Coral Collection: Stone on Stone Necklace
Another beautiful piece of what I suspect to be coral from the radian family collected from the Florida coast and cut, shaped and polished in my studio. This piece features a stone on stone setting with a beautidul piece of Sonoran turquoise set on top of the coral.
People often ask when they see these stone on stone settings if the top stone is glued onto the back stone. No. Definitely not. The top stone is set through the bottom stone. A small hole is drilled through the back stone to accommodate a rod that is affixed to the back of the setting of the top stone to make it a permanent fixture. The top stone will never fall off or be separated from the back stone.
The focal is approximately 1 1/2" tall x 1 1/8" wide.Length is adjustable via a freshwater pearl that slides up or down along the deer skin leather cord and can be worn as a choker or adjusted to up to 30" overall.
